Mark Schanze was born on May 26, 1978 in Davenport, Iowa, to David and Mary Ann Schanze. He graduated from Central Community School District in 1996 and then served in the U.S. Army. He then lived and worked in Michigan before returning to DeWitt, where he was employed at Plasti-Paint, Inc.
Mark enjoyed loud music, 80s and 90s movies, Red Wings hockey, White Sox baseball, and Hawkeye football. He was a trivia whiz and had an encyclopedic knowledge of classic movie quotes. Most of all, he loved watching Futurama and The Simpsons with his daughter.
